Advanced Neuromodulation Systems (ANS), the company sponsoring this clinical trial, became a St. Jude Medical company in 2005. As of 2008, ANS formally took on the corporate identity of St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation Division and the St. Jude Medical brand identity. However, to ensure a smooth transition for existing participants in the essential tremor study, St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation Division has maintained operation of the study under the former ANS company name and branding. ANS and St. Jude Medical Neuromodulation Division are one and the same.
